We all associate spring with cleaning. But at our house, it’s never been about perfection. It’s about intention.
This season, I’m inviting you to clean differently. Not harder. Not harsher. Just more lovingly.
Here are my ten favorite ways to show love through spring cleaning.
1. Start with a Scent That Feels Like Home
Before you wipe a single counter, choose how you want your home to feel.
Cherry feels warm, comforting, familiar.
Lemon feels bright, energizing, clarifying.
Scent shapes mood. Mood shapes moments.
Spring cleaning starts in the air.
2. Open the Windows — Let the Winter Blahs Leave
Throw them open.
Let the cold, heavy air go. Let sunlight land on your floors. Let the breeze remind you that fresh starts are natural.
Sometimes the most powerful reset isn’t in the bottle — it’s in the breeze.
3. Clean Where Your Kids Actually Live
Not the corners no one sees.
Clean the kitchen table where homework happens.
The bathroom sink where toothpaste somehow ends up everywhere.
The floor where little feet (and paws) run daily.
Love lives in the real spaces.
4. Refresh the Heart of the Home
The kitchen carries a season’s worth of life.
Wipe down cabinet fronts.
Reset the counters.
Clean the fridge shelves.
When the kitchen feels fresh, everything feels possible again.

Turn on music.
Assign small tasks.

Let the dog supervise.
When cleaning becomes shared, it becomes lighter.
You’re not just wiping surfaces. You’re teaching care.
9. Choose a Smarter Way to Clean
Spring is also a season of reconsidering.
Do we need dozens of plastic spray bottles?
Do we want harsh fumes in our air?
Can we clean in a way that’s gentler on the planet and still powerful in our homes?
Concentrated cleaning is different. One gallon becomes bottle after bottle. Less waste. Less clutter. More intention.
It’s a simple shift — but it feels good.
10. Finish with Gratitude
Stand in your freshly reset kitchen.
Notice the light.
Notice the scent.
Notice the calm.
This is what spring cleaning is really about.

Presence.
